It’s our philosophy at New Union that clothing must be equal parts design and durability.
In a world where mass produced goods are the standard, it is increasingly rare to find brands that continue to provide products with integrity and longevity in mind. Inspired by old world designs, superior construction, and a keen focus on proportions, we at New Union believe that we can provide our customers refined apparel, of the utmost quality, that will complement their personal style. Our philosophy is simple; we want to deliver products made with attention and care.
With the goal of producing well-constructed pieces, New Union is committed to supporting local industries and manufacturing all of our garments in the USA. It helps us to be more involved during every step of the production process and to maintain the focus on the quality. Every collection produced is limited in quantities to ensure our standards are never compromised.
Every item is conceptualized and designed, in Houston, Texas, with an engineer’s perspective. From the use of chain stitching finish, for a more durable seam, to our signature asymmetrical pocket created for easier hand access. We obsess over every detail, of our pieces, to ensure we improve them while respecting the traditional concept of the garment.
Note from our Designer,
Our first season focuses on one of the wardrobe essentials for every man: the shirt. It was no mistake that I chose to focus on an item that is often overlooked when designed for durability. The 'Season 1' shirts are inspired by the ones my grandfather, a South American coffee farmhand in the 1940s, used to wear. These shirts are my own take from the pictures I have of him wearing his.
The New Union name is an adaptation of a store my grandfather owned. He worked his way out of the coffee farms and built a small shop named ‘La Union’ (Spanish for The Union), where eventually my father was raised. The idea of using this type of inspiration while respecting the inherent history of a narrative is always the approach I carry into designing.
As we evolve and expand we will offer many more products. But we guarantee our commitment to quality, design and manufacturing will never change.
